SUPPER BREAK/VIEWING OF FLOWER SHOW

By the time the quiz was completed the judging was over, supper was served and members enjoyed inspecting the excellent array of entries

JUDGE’S COMMENTS

  • Best exhibit: All produce exhibits were very good, and Sally and David’s entry was judged the “best exhibit”.  However, some otherwise excellent entries were too crowded, so that the individual vegetables and fruits could not be properly seen.
  • When presenting fruit or vegetables of one type, try to have them all the same size.
  • Floral art: Mavis’ entry was beautifully done but some of the “mechanics” were visible, which detracted from the presentation.
  • Hydrangea entries were excellent but one of them was in the wrong category.
  • Remember to adhere strictly to the requirements of the schedule.

PRESIDENT’S COMMENTS

The new registration system worked well. Kevin thanked the Stewards for their good work, and thanked all the helpers who set up the show, especially David Borton and Robert Pike for their assistance with the lighting.
